The President of the United States (US) Joe Biden will reportedly visit Israel on Wednesday, October 18 2023. The US and Israel have also agreed to open a humanitarian corridor to send aid to the Gaza Strip.
Reporting from Al Jazeera, Tuesday (17/10/2023), the US received a guarantee from Israel to bring in aid to the Gaza Strip which is currently still blockaded by Israel.
"President Biden hopes to hear from the Israeli side how they will carry out an 'operation' in Gaza, without hitting civilians and allowing humanitarian aid to flow to Gaza but not benefiting Hamas," said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
After visiting Israel, Biden is said to be visiting Jordan to meet King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
1. The US emphasizes that Hamas does not defend the Palestinian people
In his meeting with the three leaders, Biden will again emphasize that Hamas fighters do not represent the Palestinian people.
To launch this visit, Blinken even met King Abdullah in Amman, on October 13 2023.
2. Biden's communication with Egypt to maintain Middle East security
On Wednesday, I'll travel to Israel to stand in solidarity in the face of Hamas's brutal terrorist attack.

I'll then travel to Jordan to address dire humanitarian needs, meet with leaders, and make clear that Hamas does not stand for Palestinians' right to self-determination.
Apart from that, Biden is said to have communicated with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss the need to maintain stability in the Middle East, especially regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The two also discussed efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Currently, aid for two million residents in Gaza is in Egypt, because the Rafah border in southern Gaza is still closed, hampering aid deliveries.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that Israel's operation in Gaza against Hamas would be quite a long war.
“The US is a big ally of ours which has also deployed its aircraft carriers to the eastern Mediterranean Sea. "We are confident that we will win against Hamas," said Gallant.
