Even though the export market for Russian defense products was affected by the war that was raging in Ukraine. However, war on the other hand is a marketing opportunity for selected weapons products, especially for defense equipment that has won the battle proven title with a high kill probability.

At the Army 2023 Forum which will be held at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center (14 -20 August 2023), Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) as the Russian arms sales agent, offers a combination of Counter Precision Guided Munition (Counter-PGM) systems which is claimed to prove effective in air defense operations.
Military conflict experience shows a rapidly growing trend toward the use of ground, air and sea-based precision guided munitions (PGMs). With its signature stealth, maneuverability and ability to penetrate various air defenses, the PGM inflicts significant damage on military, economic and infrastructure facilities.
“To that end, Russian defense companies have developed and manufactured high-tech systems capable of countering the most advanced PGMs. Its effectiveness has been proven in real combat conditions,” said Rosoboronexport General Director Alexander Mikheev.
“Rosoboronexport presents various export versions of the Russian system designed to destroy and completely disable PGMs. Their combined use provides reliable protection of military and civilian facilities against any existing and emerging weapons. The companies are ready, within the framework of technological cooperation, to jointly develop and produce new models with foreign partners," said Mikheev.
In the Counter-PGM electronic warfare systems segment, Rosoboronexport will showcase the Pole-21E electronic countermeasures (ECM) system jamming module system, which is designed to protect strategic assets and infrastructure from PGM attacks. Apart from that, there is also support from the R-330Zh automated satellite communication/navigation ECM systems, which are claimed to be in high demand in the export market.
The two jamming systems above can effectively protect closed facilities from single and massive attacks by precision-guided conventional warhead weapons equipped with various guidance systems, including when the enemy is intensively carrying out anti-jamming measures.
Both systems are capable of stopping the precision-guided weapon's navigation equipment and preventing the guidance of its submunitions in a designated area, as well as informing the covered facility. The system can be controlled remotely and operates in a stand-alone automatic mode.
To eliminate the PGM target, Rosoboronexport put forward the Viking, Buk-M2E and Tor M2KM missile systems from Almaz-Antey Corporation. Then for low-flying targets, the Pantsir-S1 self-propelled cannon/missile system and its upgraded version, Pantsir-S1M, produced by High Precision Systems, are claimed to be now more adaptive and ready to face PGM and loitering munitions.
