Flyer Defense, an assault rifle manufacturer from Los Angeles, United States, recently introduced the Flyer 72 Heavy Duty (F72-HD), a 4×4 light assault vehicle designed for special forces units.

Although lined up as a light combatant, the Flyer 72 is equipped with a gun turret from Kongsberg for remote operation of a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun and an FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile launcher. Not just made, the Flyer 72 has in fact been ordered by the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) as the vehicle of choice for the Ground Mobility 1.1 (GMV 1.1) program.

The Rantis is capable of taking up arms in less than a minute after exiting the plane's ramp doors and can carry a variety of weaponry.

As a fighter for special forces, the Flyer 72 is equipped with a communications system that can be customized to provide increased operating range and give operators real-time access to critical information.

The Flyer 72 can be equipped with a variety of weapon stations including a ring-mounted or remotely operated gun station with a machine gun up to 12.7mm or a single automatic cannon with a 30mm caliber.
