NASA finds a planet the size of Jupiter, the difference is that the weather is extremely hot! This planet outside the solar system, named KELT-20b, was successfully observed by the NASA Hubble Space Telescope.
We have known several planets in the solar system with their respective characteristics. But, did you know how many planets are outside the solar system?
Are there any of the many planets outside the solar system that are similar to the planets we know?
Maybe you could say yes, recently NASA observed exoplanets or planets outside the solar system that are as large as Jupiter. The difference is, this extrasolar planet has extreme super hot weather!

"These bloated Jupiter-sized worlds are so close to their parent stars that they are roasted at boiling temperatures above 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit (about 1649 Celsius)," NASA said as quoted from its official website.
This temperature is hot enough to vaporize most metals, including titanium. The planet is said to have the hottest atmosphere ever seen.
Launching from Cnet (08/04/2022), the exoplanets WASP-178b and KELT-29b huddled close to their own stars, triggering some extreme weather. Exoplanet WASP-178b is locked in place with one side always facing its star and has an atmosphere rotating at superstorm speed.
"On the dark side, silicon monoxide may be cold enough to condense into rock that rains down on clouds, but even at dawn and dusk, the planet is hot enough to cause rock to evaporate," NASA added.
In this study, astronomers used data from NASA's Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes to understand what was happening on the planets.
"We still don't have a good understanding of the weather in different planetary environments," said David Sing of Johns Hopkins University.
Sing is a co-author on a study on WASP-178b published in the journal Nature on Wednesday (06/04) and a study on KELT-20b published in Astrophysical Journal Letters in January.
Speaking of exoplanets, NASA has also confirmed that at least 5000 planets outside the solar system have been discovered. Scientists highlight the diversity of the landscape of planets outside the solar system and also show how much can be learned about these planets from space telescopes.
Given the extreme weather on this Jupiter-sized exoplanet, does anyone live there?
