Two Fox News Journalists Killed in Ukraine, Vehicle Hit by Bullet

Two Fox News journalists died in the midst of fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces, Monday, March 14, 2022.

The two journalists who died on the battlefield were veteran Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra "Sasha" Kuvshinova, Fox News consultants on the ground during the Russian invasion.

Veteran Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski died after his vehicle was hit by incoming gunfire in Horenka, outside Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced the unfortunate event on Tuesday (15/3).

Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall, who was reporting with Zakrzewski at the time, was also injured. Hall is still being treated in hospital, Scott said, as quoted by Fox News.

"Pierre is a war zone photographer who covered almost every international story for FOX News from Iraq to Afghanistan to Syria during his long tenure with us," he added.

"His passion and talent as a journalist is unmatched. Based in London, Pierre has been working in Ukraine since February."

Last year, he played a key role in getting his partner and family out of Afghanistan after the US withdrawal, Scott said.

In December at Fox News' annual employee Spotlight Awards, Pierre was given the "Unsung Hero" award "in recognition of his invaluable work," he added.

"Sasha is only 24 years old and serves as a consultant for us in Ukraine. She helps our crew navigate Kyiv and the surrounding area while gathering information and talking to sources," said Scott.

"He's incredibly talented and spent weeks working directly with our entire team there, operating around the clock to make sure the world knows what's going on in his country."
