Japan Reveals 4 Russian Warships Passing Through Tsugaru, Allegedly to Ukraine


The Japanese Ministry of Defense stated that four Russian warships crossed the Tsugaru Strait in the northeast of the country, Wednesday (16/3). This ship is suspected to be sending troops and war vehicles to Ukraine.

"The Japanese Ministry of Defense will continue to monitor the situation and movements of the Russian military with high vigilance," the Japanese Ministry of Defense said in a statement on their official Twitter account, quoted by CNN.

The Tsugaru Strait connects the Sea of ​​Japan and the Pacific Ocean. The strait is located on two of Japan's largest islands, namely Honshu and Hokkaido.


Earlier, a British Ministry of Defense intelligence report said Russia was withdrawing their troops from the "Eastern, Pacific Fleet and Armenian military districts," to be stationed in Ukraine.

The British Ministry of Defense said Russia had suffered heavy losses from the current battle in Ukraine.

"Russia is increasing the search for additional troops to reinforce and compensate for their personnel losses," the British Ministry of Defense said in an assessment report released on Tuesday (15/3), as reported by CNN.

"It seems that Russia is having difficulty carrying out offensive operations against the defenses of Ukraine," the statement continued.

On the other hand, Ukraine claimed to have killed 13,800 Russian troops as of Wednesday (16/3). This information is contained in a release from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces provided by the Ukrainian Embassy in Jakarta to CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (16/3).


In addition, Ukraine said it managed to destroy 1,375 armored vehicles, 430 tanks, 190 artillery systems and 84 aircraft, quoted from the same release.
