US Media Says Russian Invasion Could Take Ukraine In Just 72 Hours

US media warns an all-out Russian invasion could seize Ukraine within 72 hours.

The warning cites a congressional source briefed by the Pentagon's top general, Mark Milley. Fox News, known as America's far-right media outlet, claimed in its report that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley had warned members of Congress about Moscow's potential military might during a closed-door briefing last week.

According to Fox News, citing unnamed congressional sources, Milley estimated that a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine could result in the fall of Kiev within 72 hours.

"And could result in the deaths of 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 4,000 Russian soldiers," the report said.

Several legislators present at the meeting, which reportedly took place on February 2-3, expressed concern that Washington was not responding quickly to providing Ukraine with significant military assistance, such as anti-aircraft systems and rocket launchers that would defend against a Russian invasion.

Meanwhile, US officials argue that Moscow could use American arms shipments to Ukraine as a justification for launching an attack.

Fox News also reported that in addition to General Milley, several key US government figures were present at the meeting, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.

The report comes amid an increasingly tense situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border in recent weeks, with Western leaders repeatedly sounding the alarm over an imminent Russian attack.

The Kremlin, however, has repeatedly denied having any plans to carry out attacks against Ukraine.

Instead, accuse the Western media of fomenting hysteria. Several high-ranking Kiev officials tried to play down the threat of an imminent invasion.

In late January, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the number of Russian troops stationed near the border was insufficient for a full-scale attack on Ukraine along the border.

He added that Moscow lacked some of the military indicators and systems necessary to carry out such a large full-scale attack.
