US does not evacuate citizens from Ukraine, asks to find shelterThe United States government asked its citizens to prepare shelters in Ukraine without preparing an evacuation option.
"The US government will not be able to evacuate US citizens from Ukraine. Please review what the US government can and cannot do to help you in crises overseas," reads the Travel Alert posted by the US Embassy in Kiev, via the account. @USEmbassyKyiv, as quoted from CNN, Saturday (26/2).
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously ordered a military operation in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine on Thursday (24/2) at around 06.00 local time.

"The security situation throughout Ukraine remains extremely unstable, and conditions could deteriorate without warning. US citizens should remain vigilant and aware of the location of your nearest shelter or sheltered space," the US Embassy statement continued.
On Friday, the White House said the US State Department had contacted US citizens still in Ukraine.
"U.S. citizens who remain in Ukraine should exercise increased vigilance because of the potential for active combat, crime, and civil unrest," the embassy said.
US citizens seeking emergency assistance and who decide to remain in Ukraine must complete an online form.
"In the event of mortar and/or rocket fire, follow the instructions of local authorities and seek shelter immediately. If you feel that your current location is no longer safe, you should carefully assess the potential risks associated with moving to another location," the embassy continued.
Meanwhile, the British Embassy in Jakarta raised the Ukrainian flag as a form of support for the country which is now facing the Russian invasion.
"As a form of British support for Ukraine, we raised the Ukrainian flag at the British Embassy in Jakarta. The Ukrainian flag was also raised in all government offices in the UK," the British Embassy in Jakarta said in a release, Friday (25/2).
"There is no justification for this war which has violated Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will not allow basic principles of international law to be challenged in this way," he continued.
The British Embassy in Jakarta raised the Ukrainian flag as a form of support.
"We must continue to support Ukraine, its people and its democratic government, as they face this horrific and unprovoked attack."
British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste Owen Jenkins also considered that the war that Russia is currently waging against Ukraine is unjustifiable.
"This unwarranted and unjustified war of aggression challenges the fundamental principles of international law, enshrined in the United Nations Charter," Jenkins said in the release.
