Through a tweet on Twitter, Kuleba confirmed that Russian aggression had taken place. He also specifically called on the world to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin's move.
"Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful cities are now under attack. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now," it wrote. Kuleba.
Currently, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Nations Sergiy Kyslytsya has appealed to the Security Council, chaired by Russia, to do everything possible to stop the war against his country.
Shortly after Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine, the UN Security Council immediately convened an emergency meeting attended by all 15 members.
On that occasion, Kyslytsya urged Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia to contact Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to stop the aggression.
Putin authorized military operations in Eastern Ukraine on Thursday. This step is considered to be the beginning of a war in Europe over Russia's demands to end NATO's expansion towards the East.
The order was delivered live by Putin in a speech broadcast on state television. Shortly after, explosions began to be heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The attack took place just before dawn and was centered near the main airport in Kyiv.
Ukraine has now declared a national emergency for 30 days starting Thursday. The Ukrainian government has also announced mandatory military service for all men of combat age, between 18-60 years.
