Helping Russia, Japan Intends to Drop Economic Witnesses to Belarus!

Japan is considering imposing economic sanctions on Belarus, this is in line with the steps of the United States.

The economic sanctions were imposed in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, two government officials familiar with the matter told Reuters.

However, it is not clear which individuals or entities will be the targets of the sanctions. Officials said that Japan would coordinate with other members of the G7 Group.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman declined to comment. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's office could not immediately be reached for comment.

The US sanctions for Russia's invasion Thursday with Belarusian assistance cover 24 Belarusian individuals and entities, the US Treasury said.

Japan has declared sanctions against Russia over the invasion, with Kishida calling Moscow's move an unacceptable violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and international law.

Russian troops advanced towards the capital Kyiv on Friday even as Russia and Ukraine hinted at opening up opportunities for negotiations, following invasions carried out from the north, east and south.

It became an attack that threatened the post-Cold War European order.
